Rowan’s Findhorn Blog Day 2.

frToday started with me being roughly awakened by Rob (my dad), I did not get up, of course, instead I rolled over and grunted with anguish at the outrage at the outrage of being awoken at such hours (8am!!). After I was turned out of my bed I stumbled into the bathroom for a shower, going in just a towel was a bad idea for the shower did not work, and therefore I had parade into the breakfast room half naked, with all the guests in it! They told me I had to press a button just outside the bathroom, outside the bathroom, what do they possibly gain from that?

Rowan’s Findhorn Blog Day One.

rsThis blog will come out every day to inform you all about my trip at Findhorn (an eco village jobby in Scotland).

My day started in snow for me and my dad had taken the night train from London to Inverness, as I was woken by a young Scottish bloke knocking on my door trying to hand me a paper cup of hot water and a small bag with “tastes like real tea” on the side, by the way it did not in fact it tasted like any thing but tea.

Positive Energy: creative community responses to peak oil and climate change. Day 1.

fhsThe train journey by overnight sleeper from London Euston to Inverness is quite magical. You fall asleep sometime around the point at which the train passes through Clapham (not especially picturesque), and you awaken in the Scottish Highlands where, in our case at least, the snow is falling and the landscape, a mixture of lakes and forest, streams and hills, is quite beautiful. It was a view that was timeless, enchanting and coming from the South West of England where it never seems to snow anymore, it was a rare and delightful reconnection with landscapes that look as though they have been sprinkled with icing sugar.
