Transition Town Totnes Gets Local Council Endorsement.
On Monday 5th March I gave a 15 minute presentation to **Totnes Town Council** at the Guildhall in Totnes, about TTT and what it is doing. The presentation was at their invitation and was an opportunity to officially bring the Council up to speed, despite some of its members having already attended some of our events. After my presentation, which was well recieved, the Council passed a resolution officially endorsing the work of TTT, which feels like an important and an historic milestone. The full resolution that they passed appears below;
**8. TO DISCUSS ANY ACTION OR SUPPORT FROM THE COUNCIL, TO TRANSITION TOWN TOTNES, FOLLOWING THE PRESENTATION FROM MR ROB HOPKINS**
It was RESOLVED to write to Transition Town Totnes, formally giving the support of Totnes Town Council, and allowing this to appear on their correspondence.
Cllr Blackwell felt that we should keep close communications with TTT. This could be done through the Champions and the Strategic Plan. We should also support the Energy Descent Plan and reflect their concerns.
The Mayor suggested that it may be appropriate to elect a Council representative onto T.T.T. after the elections. The Clerk confirmed that we get regular bulletins from T.T.T. and the Mayor asked for these to be copied to Councillors.
