A Film About Transition Town Deventer, for all Dutch speakers out there

Here is a really well made film from Holland about Transition Town Deventer.  I can’t understand a word of it, but it looks great!  If you speak Dutch, I do hope you enjoy it….

This is a very engaging short film, very positive and focused on practical solutions. Unfortunately, it only looks at fossil fuel depletion and the ways individuals and communities can take practical steps to create greater resilience in the face of that challenge. I would have liked for climate change to be at least mentioned as the other main driver behind the Transition movement. Apart from that, a great answer to that question so often put before us: “…but what is it that they DO, these Transition Initiatives?”

It was joy to contribute to this film. It’s been made by Ronald Blijd, a film student and TT-enthousiast. The film is very well received in the Netherlands, and already been downloaded by others (outside TT) to use in workshops.
We started out making it being inspired by the short film made by TT Lewes as a promo for their Great Unleashing (I still use that one from time to time when giving presentations about Transition initiatives).
Actually, when time comes for us in Deventer to plan an Unleashing ourselves, we’ll try to get our film as a teaser in the local cinemas as well. An alternate ending will be edited in, announcing the date and time of the event.
