For anyone looking to raise funds from their community I highly recommend check out:

http://www.communityshares.org.uk/

I went the their London seminar yesterday and it was great.

I'm going to apply to become one of there 10 selected projects they are going to help develop over the next two years as part of their action research project.

The project I'll be apply for is a dream I've had for a while: essentially creating an international network of people who all pool their funds to invest in resilience building eco land and infrastructure projects :)

Get in touch with me via josef AT uniteddiversity.com if you've like to support this and get involved :)

(some of use are already putting a small amounts regularly into a Triodos savings account for exactly these purposes :) )

Smiles,

Josef.

Excellent - this is similar to the crowd funding that got Age of Stupid off the ground - this is so much about the collective impact of a lot of people doing a small thing rather than one person doing a lot of things/a big thing which for me is at the heart of transition - and so often it is not about the money but what you are wanting to do and then what role money plays in you doing it. Will be investigating this further.
