Clapham? surely not. If you passed Clapham you were already asleep and in your dreams as that is south of the river Thames and for trains heading south not north!

I agree with your comments about the challenge of booking rail travel. When I tried to book it took a number of attempts to book teh return leg as this date was 'not released' by network rail in case of potential engineering works, which is probably why we had the non-functioning online booking experience. At one point I nearly gave in and booked an air ticket I was so frustrated but very glad I persisted as enjoyed it a lot. Right now I am on the train home by day with electricity for my laptop and free wifi - brilliant!

I have in the spent worked for years in the travel reservations industry and one of the reasons that rail companies are so far behind airlines in the efficiency of their systems is that they have not had to cooperate and exchange booking information with other companies and across borders. As British Rail used to say, "we're getting there," but there is still a long way to go.

Findhorn sure has grown since I was there in 1977 as a 20 year old seeker of truth. I am visiting it again through you, and enjoying it very much. Thanks Rob. :)
