I wanted to provide a link to my rebuttal to Stuart Staniford on Peak Oil and relocalization of agriculture, which appeared on The Oil Drum about a week after Sharon's (my slow response may be explained by my prioritizing sleep a bit higher than Sharon Astyk!):

I would take a pinch of salt with the official obesity figures, they still labour away with the woefully inadequate BMI (Body mass index), this was demonstrated nicely in Jamey Olivers show a few weeks ago where the relatively fit, vegetarian rugby player was told that he was obese whilst hardly carring any fat at all.

On the funding front, surely 'fit food' would have to be policy to gain access to grants.
