Those 1,000 HGVs will be looking to shorten their supply chains dramatically before they start looking for alternative fuels - conservation's typically the first thing to get looked at in practical situations.

The oil vulnerability auditing pioneered in Totnes would be a perfect way to actually quantify the dependence and provide "bottom-line" impetus to convincing management of the need to change.

So over 1,000 HGVs will be looking for alternative fuels. I hope they can use alcohol made from the European wine lake, rather than use ethanol from Mexican maize or palm oil plantations in the Developing World.
