Situation Vacant at Transition Town Totnes!

logo We are delighted at Transition Town Totnes to be able to offer our first paid post, that of Coordinator / Administrator. It feels like a real milestone for us to reach, and it feels great to be advertising the post. If you are interested in applying, don’t contact me!! The contact details are at the bottom of this piece. Here is the text of the ad that went into the local paper today.

**Coordinate a positive future for Totnes!**

Transition Town Totnes is an exciting community response to the challenges of climate change and peak oil. We are looking to recruit our first paid worker to set up a central office and coordinate activities across the diverse range of projects currently being initiated.

You will need to be passionate about creating a positive future beyond our present industrialised and consumerist world, enthusiastic to work alongside many different sections of the community and experienced in setting up efficient office systems. Experience of the environmental sector and working with volunteers an advantage.

Initially funded as a 6 month self-employed contract, we welcome applications for full time or job share and plan to secure continued funding. £15,000 p.a. pro rata. Applications by **24th May 2007**.

For more information and an application pack either click here or email transitiontowntotnes@googlemail.com or call 01803 863730 to order a printed pack.

A thought (and please correct me if this wasn’t already done) – in the spirit of localisation, shouldn’t the post be advertised solely locally first for a period of time as opposed to internationally!

I’ve been told that the Small School in Devon does not accept children whose parents have not already moved to the area. You make a commitment to the area, before the area makes a commitment to you.

But well done anyway in reaching this landmark!!
